Crusader Sneak Peak

I'm off for a couple weeks but this is the current project I'm working on based on my Diablo 3 character. I'll be finishing sculpting, detailing, wear and a pedestal when I get back.

Skylanders: Imaginators has launched!

The most recent game I worked on launched last week. I worked on 3 of the toys as well as hundreds of "create your own Skylander" parts. It was a ton of work to get all the parts working together and then 3D printable but everyone involved pulled together and made a really fun and impressive character creation system.

Rock On!

I recently finished a handpainted piece and uploaded it to Sketchfab. It was bascially a 3D illustration done for fun and as a little homage to Jennifer Herrema, a musician.

Skylanders: Imaginators - Starcast

So my contract at Toys for Bob has come to an end. In my 12+ years working in games, this was the best year yet! It was a great opportunity and place to work. I worked on a lot of "Create Your Own Skylander" parts but I also worked on some toys, playable characters and enemies. Starcast is one of the sensei characters. I worked on both the posed toy model and in-game assets. Here is a preview of the toy and in-game cahracter. (I will post some better material once the game is publicly available) When you buy the toy, you can activate the in-game character to play with.

Finland: Helsinki

I just returned from a 2 week trip to Finland last week. It was a really great trip. I got to meet relatives I've never met before, saw a whole bunch of cities and traveled all over the country with my dad and sister. I was able to enjoy a couple lake-side saunas and jump in the lake afterwards to cool off. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. I am uploading the photos I took in batches starting with Helsinki since that was the first stop. The full photo album can be found here.

We stayed in a hostel that featured some interesting artwork on the walls.

The hostel was on an island right in the port of Helsinki where the Uspenski Cathedral is located.

I went out one evening and took some pictures around 10pm, and the sun was still up.

We rented bikes one of the days to do some sight-seeing. Coffee is a very common and popular drink in Finland and you see coffee stands and cafes all over the place. This one was right on the water next to one of the bike trails.

Every city we stopped in had a central outdoor market area. This one included some boats with fresh fish and vegetables for sale.

The Sibelius Monument.

One of the parks we visited on the bike ride, Kaivopuisto park.
